The Traders' Affair *updated

Gobo Chit Chat - Meet & Eat Gobo Chit Chat is a vibrant and trendy all day dining. A sushi bar, an open noodle kitchen and a show bakery are some of the attractions. The 10 meter high curved animated ceiling creates drama and invites you to a very special urban dining experience. During dinner time, try the restaurant's unique 'chit-chat food' - a series of small and creative international and Asian dishes served unobtrusively, creating casual free flow of interaction and plenty of chit-chat.

I went to The Traders' Hotel yesterday afternoon for a farewell lunch. Since I have been here (since end October 2007), I have had 3 farewell lunches. Yesterday's lunch was good...

FYI, the italics version are the updates (Day : 30/3/08, Sunday 11-11.45pm). Was still half asleep while doing up the post. I was trying to kill time while waiting for my brother to come and pick me up to go back to my hometown. Oh well, I thought I will not do the chef any justice if I don't comment wee bit on the food =*)

These are some of the photos which I have taken of the food which went into my tummy lummy (save and except for the seafood dish)... was not bold enough to take photos at the buffet line but for me... these are good enough... =*)

I headed to the sushi bar and these are what I got for me starters... too bad no sashimi but I am contented just with these selections. There are others but I thought I better keep some space for other yummilicious looking desserts on my way in =p My rating for these... ***/*****

Next... salad bar... I took fish salad, mango kerabu, jelly fish salad, chicken salad... hmm... I think that's about it. Mango kerabu and fish salad... these are what I called real appetisers! My rating... ****/*****

If I remember correctly... this is the photo of my colleague's seafood i.e. prawn, crabs. My apologies if I have gotten the wrong description. I can't really tell from the coded description if this is the right photo. Can't rate because I didn't try. But my colleague loved it.

Hmmmm... these are the ala cartes... if I recall, I have kung po duck, fried potato fritters, mixed vegetable, baked salmon, some dim sum... hmmm... can't remember what else I took. The baked salmon... baked to perfection! If you go there... this is a MUST TRY. My colleagues tried the vegetarian lasagna and they said it's very good as well. My rating (especially the baked salmon)... *****/*****

I think this is the miso soup... nice. My rating... ***/*****

Sigh... DESSERTS!!!! Yes... there're brownies, carrot cake... eh... can't remember the other 2 something raspberry and blueberry... I think. The carrot cake's to die for... another MUST MUST TRY! My rating on desserts... ****/*****

And last but not least... ICE CREAM!!! My colleagues and bosses were really in shock when they saw me coming back to the table with 4 scoops. I didn't ask for 4scoops... but the girl told me to take all 4 available flavours because I could not decide which to take... corn, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. They are creamy... and smooth... and really comparable with Haagen Daz. Seriously... top the ice cream with nuts and chocolate sauce... mmmmmmm... you will definitely go for seconds if your tummy has any space... My rating... ****/*****

There you go... I know I am not a very good food critic due to my lack of bombastic food connoisseur's language... but please bear with me & hopefully I will improve in time to come...

Okidoki folks... oh shoot... forgot to mention this... You peeps should try the buffet here in Traders' Hotel. It's value for money i.e. RM50++ Compare this with Shangs (though they are the same group) which costs RM89++, I am of the opinion that Traders' is better. Selection of food may be less as compare to Shangs... but how much can one eat, right? Why torture your poor tummy with excessive food, right?

Okidoki... me got to go and sleep. So tired... I arrived home at 6.15pm and was out of the house again in 15 minutes for an event in church... server of food =)) Came home at about 10.30pm, washed up and have been on this post since. Nitey nite *yawn*
